Title: Killing NPCs and their reactions Post by: perk31 on April 09, 2005, 04:27:13 PM I'd like to know how everyone believes NPCs of the same faction should react when another NPC is killed?
If they all turn hostile and run to help out their friend then killing NPCs, at least for low level charactes, is going to be extremely difficult. The alternative is that all NPCs of the same faction within perception range will turn hositle but will not attack allowing you to pick them off one at a time. Some exceptions to this might be attacking city guards. reason is that if you saw your friend being attacked would you stand there or fight... yes it might get hard however they started the fight... possibly if they act hodtile to an NPC then only after the npc dies do the other people react.. also anyone killed in the city should make the gaurds go hostile but maybe getting a jail system if we want to make exiles... but i dont know how to find that kind of system Title: Killing NPCs and their reactions Post by: atebatsam on April 12, 2005, 01:54:58 PM A jail system would be pretty cool. In general all surrounding NPCs should turn hostile and run and fight, or run away, or do something, not just wait for you to come to them. If it is too hard for low lvl chars then they shouldnt be attacking NPCs.
Title: Killing NPCs and their reactions Post by: perk31 on April 12, 2005, 02:38:17 PM I agree. There really isn't anything on the low level NPCs that can't be found in the shops, except for one or two of the shopkeepers themselves and they are all alone!
