Subraces:

Several subraces are available with more on the way.  You will need to enter your choice during character creation in the subrace field.  Current choices are:
    Drow
          Kender
          Mindflayer
          Gray Dwarves
          Moon Elves

For more information see this post.

Starting locations:

Each race has a unique starting location.  Elves start in Varna Lond.  Dwarves start in Kel'Nuzad.  Human and Half Elves start in Churberg.  Halflings start in Noisington.  Half Orcs start in Dalair.

Getting around:

For new players the only viable transportation available will be your two legs, fortunately roads throughout Lemnos are well marked.  Travel through the countryside is relatively safe although one should be prepared for the occasional wild animal.  Attacks by bandits are rare but do happen.

New players are highly advised to purchase the magical maps sold in magic shops throughout Lemnos.  These maps are essential to finding your way around when you are off the beaten path.  Maps of the major cities are also available for purchase.

A map of Lemnos may be found here.

For those with the coins to spare, a teleporter network has been setup by the Guild of Mages.  The network connects the major cities of Lemnos and provide instantaneous travel, at exorbitant prices.  Travel by ship between the coastal cities and towns is also an option for a much more reasonable price.

Financing your adventures:

For new players the best place to earn some coin is working for the Commodity exchange.  As of this writing only Churberg has an active commodity exchange so some travel may be necessary.  A word of warning, the commodity exchange delivers packages all over Lemnos so make sure you know where you are going before accepting a job.

Many opportunities exist for an adventurous person to earn the money they require.  Various organizations throughout Lemnos and many citizens require specialized help and are willing to pay for it.

Finding Equipment:

Equipment for the prospective adventurer is easy to acquire.  The arms trade on Lemnos is very brisk and every city has a plethora of goods to choose from.  Even small towns will have a reasonable supply of goods for the needy adventurer.

Specialized equipment is much more difficult to obtain.  Lemnos is far more civilized and her citizenry much safer since crown's edict forbidding enhanced arms.  Unfortunately this has made those items highly sought after and most end up in the hands of brigands.

Finding Adventure:

Talk to everyone as you never know who may have a job they need help with.  New players can find at least one level appropriate area near their respective start locations.  After these are complete most players will be level 2-3.  There are several start areas centered around Churberg that are suitable for players up to level 2-3.  These areas and their map coordinates are:

     Faerie Ring            31 North / 9 East
     Haunted Manor     29 North / 12 East
     Shipwreck             27 North / 8 East
     Orphanage            27 North / 14 East
     Goblin Caves         27 North / 10 East

PvP

Random PvP is not allowed.  The excuse "My character is chaotic evil and is having a bad day" doesn't cut it either.  Roleplayed PvP is allowed but both parties have to be in agreement that a fight to the death is the logical conclusion.

PvP is allowed in the arenas.

PvP is allowed among members of the Society of Killers.  SK members have some strict guidelines so make sure you are aware of them if you join SK.

Questing:
All quests in CA are persistent.  To prevent XP loading a quest can not be completed unless all members of the party have the same quest state, which progresses throughout a given quest.  This may also cause a problem if you recruit help to complete a quest that is in progress.  For instance, a quest may require killing an NPC, whose death will advance the state of the quest.  In order to reach the NPC you need help from a high level rogue who joins your party for this specific purpose.  Since the rogue has not been involved with the quest he/she has a different quest state which prevents the advancement of the quest.  The solution to this problem is to remove the rogue from the party before killing the NPC, or the rogue could advance through the quest alone until reaching the same point as the party and then join the party to eliminate the NPC.

General Notes:

Watch your alignment.  Everything you do will effect your reputation/alignment
in some manner.  The most obvious effect will come from killing people or
monsters.  EVERYTHING you kill will adjust your alignment over time and
EVERYTHING is kill able and nothing is off limits except other players.

Always quest in a party.  There will be situations that you can not handle and
having party members with different skills and talents will drastically increase
        your odds of success.

Do not dismiss any attribute as unimportant, there is no such thing here!

   Always quest in a party!

Do not neglect your skills.  There is no unimportant skills in CA.  You may have
never used persuade before but you will here and every other skill on the list.

   Always quest in a party!

Talk to everyone.  Anyone may have a tidbit of information for you and some
NPCs are a gold mine of information.  Rumors can be invaluable to the clever
       adventurer.

Heals are limited so be prepared.

  Always quest in a party!
