I was wondering if the availability of enhanced ranged weapons and ammunition should be greater than standard weapons?  I've never really used bows and crossbows so I don't know how a Ranger using a bow would stack up against a fighter using a longsword.

Enhanced weapons are readily available, but it is not my intention to make them plentiful in the shops.  This doesn't really pose a problem for fighters but I'm afraid this will create issues for those players who play characters that would not normally use items such as longswords or axes.

I think that it should be the same a swords. Maybe +1 in the shops and you have to fight for higher. As for the ammo, perhaps +1 fire damage, cold damage, and maybe eletrical, but nothing higher. They have to fight for the good stuff, or fight to where they can buy it.

Enhanced Ranged weapons, in my opinion, should be on the same level as the Enhanced Melee.
There are RP reasons, not just practical ones. (Say, the Arcane Archer)
I've seen characters of all types use Ranged weapons with the added benefits of feats like rapid shot & point-blank and deal out 30 or more damage points per shot!
Think of all those great shots of Legolas in the LoTR films, popping arrows into Orcs from four feet away!

I agree with Wurm657, Ranged ammo/Weapons should be on a par with the Melee weapons and a personal preference would be to not have an abundance of weapons greater than +1 on every street corner.

Back in the day getting a magical weapon would be an adventure in itself, something that would be earned, brawling to the last against some gargantuan foe. I wouldn't want the enjoyment of winning that weapon dulled by hearing "Thank you come again" everytime I fancied a slightly better weapon

yeah thats fine, but whenever i buy arrows from the fletcher, it seems they were the last bunch he had in stock, and it would take awhile, (usually a lot more time than it would take for me to use them) for him to *make* more. this is a little harsh, but i think its also interesting for vendors to be out of stock of items, especially magic items if magic is going to be somewhat rare or hard to come by.  Perhaps there should be an unlimited supply of basic items, simply to keep things fun, but maybe special events for magical stuff. ie, can make fire arrows if you bring him flint, or something, i dunno, just a thought.

I agree that basic items like ammuntion that arent enhanced should be set as unlimited... also a few of the basic weapons as well

also is there a crafting system in place to make arrows out of components?

i don't think there is a crafting system currently in place ... but I know its on the list ... I  also think that basic ammo should be unlimited ... in reality who cannot make a regular arrow by the hundreds   ... but in all fairness they did have apprentices and many of them to help in the production ... thanks

Just an oversight on my part.  If you leave the shop and then visit again after a couple of minutes he will have a new supply.  I'll change it on the update.  Yes some items may be limited on purpose in the future.

A crafting system is coming.  I'll be asking for feedback on this one later.
